Reflections

When I interact with people, one way or another, I always get asked this one question: "Were you scared when you were starting your business?"
My response has always been the same: I did not know there was something to be scared of. LOL.
The thought of failure never crossed my mind. Looking back now, I believe my upbringing played a great role in that. I had never been around the conversation of someone failing at something. It was more "oh, this was tried and tested, and it either worked out or it did not." No one carried failure like an armour. It was not even a word I was familiar with, so I understand now why it did not cross my mind.
I was 26 when my friend said she thought I should use the fabric I had always sold while holding a corporate job in advertising to make some styles, and how she knew a tailor in Mushin who could sew the clothes for me. I still believe she hypnotised me and drove me to Mushin, because we went with fabrics and samples, took pictures, posted them on Instagram, and just like that, a fashion business was built.
I never even named it. I just used my Instagram, which makes sense why God would only have me name it properly five years down the line, once I actually had a relationship with Him where I could hear Him speak in different ways and through different things.
I know some people are paralysed by fear, and I hope that one day they allow themselves to receive the love of Jesus that is freely available to them, so that the fear can be cast out.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
